Russia restarts flights with 52 “friendly” countries

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that as of April 9, flights will be resumed with 52 “friendly” countries.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, at a meeting with government officials in the capital Moscow, stated that the measures applied for scheduled and charter flights due to the Covid-19 outbreak will be lifted on April 9th.

Reminding that Russian citizens can fly to many countries without restrictions, Mishustin said, “Flights to 52 friendly countries, including Argentina, India, China and South Africa, will resume as of April 9.”

Due to the sanctions, the EU and the USA decided to close the airspace to Russian planes, and Russia also put into effect a similar sanction decision.
