The demolition work of the 18-storey building in Kahramanmaraş, which ranked first in the search engine Google as “the most ridiculous building in the world” and whose coating removal has been completed, continues.
The ‘most ridiculous building in the world’ is being demolished.
It is planned to build a parking lot and square with a capacity of at least 1500 vehicles instead of the Private Administration Business Center, which has been criticized for its visuality and not being multifunctional.
Metropolitan Mayor Hayrettin Güngör told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the building, which was built as the Private Administration Business Center 30 years ago, came up first in Google searches as “the most ridiculous building in the world”.
Noting that the building is not functional, it also spoils the historical silhouette of the region, Güngör pointed out that the building is also a subject of criticism because it is incompatible with the historical texture.
Güngör said, “The dismantling of the exterior and interior applications of the Private Administration Business Center has been completed recently. We are acting jointly with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. We will carry out an important transformation on the 40-decare island and implement a work in line with the historical texture.” said.
Noting that the demolition works will be completed in 90 days, Güngör added that “City Square” will be built in the area declared as an urban transformation area.
